Classes are forming for adults who want to speak and want to be able to communicate in Spanish. The classes are based on practical conversation, in a friendly environment and with fun and creative activities.

If after a stressful and busy day at work you don’t want to sit in a classroom to learn, then, this is the class for you. If you are concerned because you don’t speak a word or you speak just “un poquito,” we will work with you at your pace and at your level. Don’t worry!

EOPA Head Start Program’s 2nd Annual Sweetheart’s Ball is Feb. 16

 

The EOPA Head Start Program invites fathers and daughters and mothers and sons of families currently enrolled in Head Start to attend its annual gala affair. The EOPA Head Start Program will hold the second annual Sweetheart’s Ball with music, refreshments, raffles, games, and dancing. Families will be able to participate in an educational training session.

The ball will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the EOPA Head Start Program offices, 525 Hamilton St., Toledo.

Feb. 2—The BGSU Gish Film Theater will screen the 1949 U.K. film “The Third Man,” directed by Carol Reed, at 7:30 p.m. American novelist Holly Martins, played by Joseph Cotton, arrives in postwar Vienna in search of his old friend Harry Lime (Orson Welles), only to find himself in a disturbing web of black market profiteering and misplaced loyalty. Written by Graham Greene and with a memorable score, the movie is part of the International Film Series at the university. Free

Feb. 5—The winners of both the undergraduate- and graduate-level concerto competitions will perform in the 45th annual Bowling Green Philharmonia Concerto Competition concert. Each soloist will play an entire work with the Philharmonia. The concert begins at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at BGSU. After the jewel goes missing, two of the brothers leave to enlist in the French Foreign Legion, and the third sets out to search for his family. Feb. 8—Bowling Green State University’s Music at the Forefront series continues with itsnotyouitsme, featuring violinist Caleb Burhans and guitarist Grey McMurray. They will be performing their original work along with works by John Cage, Franz Schubert and other composers. The 8 p.m. performance is at The Clazel Theater (127 North Main St.) in downtown Bowling Green. The concert is sponsored by BGSU’s MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music. Performance Network Announces 2009-10 Saturday Series for Young Audiences.

Performance Network will present each of its touring Children's Theatre Network productions on the third Saturday of the month at 1:00 PM.  Great entertainment for all ages, with a milk and cookie reception following each performance.
