The planning for the Northwest Ohio Immigration Forum continues
on August 3rd, 2012 at noon at the FLOC conference
room at 1223 Broadway Ave., Toledo. ALL ARE WELCOME!
The momentum is building for our forum on Thursday, September 13
from 5 - 9 p.m. This is an important topic for our community and
we have elected and appointed officials ears for the time-being.
Baldemar has been drumming up attendance and support for the
forum as he speaks throughout the country. We anticipate that
our Congresswoman Kaptur, city and county law enforcement, the
legal community and members affected by immigration to be in
attendance.
We will be discussing the following:
- Flow and topic for speakers;
- Determining which elected and appointed officials should be on
the panel;
- Opportunities for sponsors (we do need a couple of dollars
here);
- Getting the word out.

Editor’s Note: US Rep. Marcy Kaptur voted against
the DREAM Act; August 3rd would be a good time to meet
with her and ask her why she voted against the DREAM Act,
especially since President Barack Obama supported the DREAM Act.
Moreover, on June 15, 2012, President Obama issued an Executive
Order—effective August 14, 2012—implementing many of the
provisions of the DREAM Act passed by the House of
Representatives in December, 2010.
